Please call us at (800) 438-7180 or e-mail service@lhlic.com.
Can I change the date of my automatic bank draft for my premium payment? [top]
Yes, please call us at least three business days in advance and we can move your monthly draft within your grace period. Your monthly draft must be between the 1st and 28th of each month. If your automatic draft falls on a Saturday, Sunday, or bank holiday, it will be deducted from your account on the following business day.
How do I change the bank account that I’m using to pay my premiums? [top]
Please fax or mail to us a completed Service form along with a voided check or deposit slip from the new bank account. Please note that if a premium is currently due, a check or money order for the premium should be sent with the authorization form.
What services can the Home Office help me with? [top]
We offer personal assistance in reviewing, amending or discontinuing your existing policy. We also handle your billing and bank draft payment needs. Please call us if you need a form mailed to you, or if you have questions about filling out a form. We can also discuss your policy status and make payment arrangements if needed.
How long does it take to process my request? [top]
All requests are generally processed within five business days. Please allow time for the mail to be received and returned as well.
Can I change my beneficiary over the phone? [top]
Beneficiary changes must be submitted in writing in order to protect your interests. Also, we recommend naming a contingent beneficiary, in addition to the primary beneficiary, to receive funds in the event that your primary beneficiary passes away before you do. If you name multiple beneficiaries, describe exactly how much of the benefit should go to each beneficiary. Remember to review your choices periodically.
Can I name a funeral home as my beneficiary? [top]
You may name a funeral home as your beneficiary, UNLESS you reside in one of the following states:
Florida | Maryland | Michigan | Montana | New Jersey | New Mexico* | Oklahoma | South Carolina | South Dakota | Tennessee | Texas | Utah | West Virginia
* New Mexico: A funeral home may be named as beneficiary only if insured and owner are the same person.
We recommend that you name the funeral home to the extent "as their interest may appear" and also name a trusted friend or family member as a contingent beneficiary.
What happens if I can't make my payment on my life insurance? [top]
Your policy has a 31-day grace period to make payments without a lapse in coverage. If your policy has been in force long enough to accumulate cash value, an Automatic Premium Loan may be available to pay past-due premiums. If your policy has lapsed, you may apply for reinstatement of your policy.
I received an offer for additional benefits From Lincoln Heritage in the mail. Can I activate it over the phone? [top]
We’re unable to activate additional benefits over the phone. We require your signature on the mailed form in order to activate these benefits. Please return the signed form to us. If it has been misplaced, please contact us and we’ll promptly send a new form to you.
Who can get information on my policy? [top]
Information is only given to the policy owner, unless they authorize another person to do so by contacting us over the phone or in writing.
Can I get a quote for additional coverage over the phone? [top]
Quotes must be given by a licensed agent. We’ll be happy to take your information and have a local agent contact you. You may submit the information yourself through our convenient online form here.
What should I do if an agent tries to get me to replace my Medicare Supplement policy? [top]
